The symposium is part of the activities of REAL (Research group "Economics, policy analysis, and language")
Language policy is a form of public policy that in many countries finds its basis in constitutions, laws, decrees, or simply tradition. The contributions in the symposium will compare and scrutinize, both empirically and theretically, the role of rules and incentives in influencing speakers' linguistic practices and representations as well as the intended and discerned effects of different language policy instruments on the behavior of individual users and organisations.
Public subject to a participation fee.
