Academic exchange between Andrássy University Budapest (AUB) and the University of St. Gallen (SH7/2/5, 2010-2015)
The project offers know-how in core areas of Swiss expertise through mobillizing a delegation of Swiss professors to teach at the Andrássy University Budapest. In addition, the professors in residence will participate in lecturing, in research, and in the management of the university, as well as participate in the strategic development of the curriculum and the repositioning of the Andrássy University Budapest in the European and Hungarian academic domains.
The primary goals of the project are:
- Strengthening the role of the Andrássy University Budapest (AUB) as a research centre in political science, law and economics,
- Strengthening Hungary's position as a knowledge-based society,
- Enhancing competitiveness of AUB graduates in job markets.
Specific objectives:
- The successful completion of research programmes
- The transfer of CH-related know-how
- The enhancement of teaching capacities at AUB
- Facilitating access to Swiss academic networks for AUB scholars and students.
Throughout its duration, the project offered courses and block seminars for students taught by two Swiss professors in residence, while the professors also strengthened and gave prominence to the following core research areas with their research input: democracy research, federalism, international law and public management. The exchange professors also assumed management tasks, such as a deanship and they participated in the reform and re-orientation process of the university. In addition, they organised academic events related to Switzerland and prepared excursions and field trips to Switzerland for the students.
