The 2022 French presidential elections will take place on April 10 and 24. After the first round (April 10), analysts will naturally focus on the two candidates who will stay in the running and confront each other in the second round. Scheduled two days before the first round, this public lecture highlights longer-term political challenges to see what France still represents in the world today, beyond the personae of the candidates and their ongoing battle of narratives on the ‘decline’ or the ‘rebirth’ of the country.

Ádám Bence BALÁZS, PhD is a fellow researcher at the LCSP (Centre for Social and Political Change), Université de Paris (Paris 7 – Denis-Diderot University). Formerly a visiting fellow at the Graduate Institute (IHEID) in Geneva, he is currently a lecturer at the Andrássy University in Budapest and the Bratislava International School of Liberal Arts.
