Reforms in Hungary have been criticised for undermining the academic freedom in the country. The panel debate wants to discuss these allegations with researchers working in Hungary against the background of their daily work. International cooperation is essential for academic freedom and science. Therefore, the panel debate also addresses the question of how cross-border academic cooperation within the European research area can support academic freedom and researchers in Hungary.
